How to disable VoLTE on Android?

VoLTE stands for Voice over LTE, which can be roughly translated as “voice over LTE.” In general, this is the essence of the technology: voice calls are made via LTE, and this function on smartphones is usually turned on by default. Can I turn it off? Certainly.

First, we will show you how to determine that the function is not only turned on, but also works – an icon will appear in the status bar. It may look different. So, in our case, it has the shape of a circle, inside which there is an inscription HD:

But still the word VoLTE is more common.

Open Settings.

Click on the “More” button.

Tap on the item “Mobile network”.

Here you see the line “VoLTE calls” – the function is enabled.

Move the switch.

At the same time, the VoLTE icon in the status bar disappears, which indicates that the function is disabled.

If necessary, you can turn it on later.
