How to put a password on the gallery and other applications in Android?

Suppose you have an Android phone or tablet. Since several people have access to the device at once (for example, your household), you would like to somehow protect some applications from unauthorized access. How to do it? You can use device lock with a password or, say, fingerprint reader. Or you can simply block individual applications. How? The answer is further.

First of all, you will need to install a third-party application Smart applock. To do this, open the Google Play Market and enter the specified phrase into the search. Next install the application.

After the application is installed, you need to run it. Please note that when you first start the application, you will need to enter the default password – 7777.

After entering the password, the “Applications” tab will open in front of you. Here’s what it looks like:

You will need to add the applications for which you want to set a password. To do this, click on the plus sign at the bottom of the window.

Next we see a list of applications. Suppose we want to set a password for the Gallery application. Accordingly, we click on it so that a checkmark appears next to its name. After the applications are selected (there may be several), click on the “Add” button.

We moved back to the “Applications” tab with the application already added. In our case, this is the “Gallery”.

All? No, not all. the problem is that by default all the same password 7777 is used. For example, opening the gallery, you will see that to view photos you need to enter the password that is indicated in the hint.

We must change the password. To do this, open our Smart AppLock application and select the “Settings” tab. Here you will see the item “Security Settings”, click on it.

On the security settings page, you can change the method of blocking and the password itself. Let’s say we leave the blocking method with numbers.

Click “Password” and enter a new password from numbers, for example, 123456, and save the settings.

We go to the gallery and try to enter the password 7777 – nothing comes of it, because we just changed it. The correct password is 123456.

I would like to pay particular attention to the fact that you do not need to install root rights to use this application. But there is a minus – when you remove Smart AppLock, previously blocked applications become unlocked. So if you want to get to your gallery it will not be so difficult. The rest – the idea and implementation is just excellent, as you can see for yourself.
