Slows down your Android tablet or phone. What to do?

Quite often you can hear how users of devices based on the Android OS complain: well, they say, at first the phone worked fine, and recently it started to slow down terribly. Of course, the question arises – why is this happening? There can be many reasons, so let’s talk in more detail about how to return performance to your device.

For new devices

I would like to start right away by talking about new smartphones or tablets. Often they, as soon as you turn them on, upset with friezes during use. There are several possible options:

  • Outdated or custom firmware.
  • Glitch in the device itself.
  • Freezes and brakes – a constant condition when using the device.

On the first point. If we are talking about the device that you ordered in some foreign store, then be prepared for the fact that the seller can install some unofficial firmware that is incorrectly optimized for the device. What is required of you? Update it to the official, and preferably to the latest existing version. You should have no problems with this, because there is such a wonderful forum as, where everything is perfectly chewed.

Second moment. If the factory firmware is installed and we are talking about its latest version, be sure to do a complete data reset. We talked about this procedure in sufficient detail, so we will not repeat ourselves. We will only say that this simplest process helps to solve the problem in most cases.

As for the last point, sometimes manufacturers sometimes have oversights. For example, a very famous company released a very interesting smartphone several years ago with a 5-inch screen and Full HD resolution, but with the hardware everything was not so smooth: apparently, for the sake of economy, a weak and already outdated processor was installed, which was not able to cope with their duties. Despite 2 GB of RAM, the processor is “not enough”, so even when turning the pages on the screen friezes are noticeable. And no flashing the device in this case will help. It remains only to reconcile with the fact.

We are looking for the cause of the brakes in your device

If we talked about new Android devices above, now let’s talk about those cases when the smartphone or tablet worked fine for a while, and then it suddenly started to slow down.

Stop unnecessary applications

First of all, you need to disable some of the applications that work in the background and devour the resources of your device. It seems to you that you installed the application and forgot about it, and it, by the way, can be launched, and therefore uses valuable resources.

What are we doing? We go into the settings, there we look for the “Applications” section, select working processes and, in fact, see a couple of processes that should not be used at all.

By clicking on the application icon, you can stop it.

If you do not need the application, just uninstall it. Of course, we are talking only about those applications that you yourself installed. You can’t simply delete the system ones, since root rights are required for this, and besides, deleting them can lead to problems with the device itself: if something goes wrong, the device will easily turn into a brick. be careful.

“Close” unnecessary applications

Do not forget to clear the memory of running applications. To do this, the device usually uses a button or a long press on the button located at the bottom of the device.

In fact, if the gadget does not have enough RAM, it should automatically terminate (unload from memory) some applications, but, as practice shows, this does not always happen and not on every device.

Clear cache

Try clearing the device cache. This is not difficult, since cleaning is provided on each device, but the process may vary slightly. For example, in the usual Android without add-ons, you need to go into the settings, select the “Memory” – “Cache” section (“Cache Data”).

Click on the indicated item and clear the cache.

Delete unnecessary files from the device

A problem with the brakes can be observed if the device is completely filled with files. To solve the problem, you just need to clear the memory. You can delete, for example, applications, photos, videos, etc..

What if nothing helps?

If no action helps, it’s probably the tricks of a virus or malicious file. Use an antivirus, fortunately, for Android devices, in most cases they are completely free. If the antivirus does not find anything, save all the data (backup) and restore the device to factory settings. Or try installing a more recent firmware.
