The phone says “Not registered on the network.” What to do?

The error “Not registered on the network” can appear completely suddenly and many users do not know what to do in such cases. The problem is that it is impossible to receive or make calls at this time, which in turn is due to the fact that the operator cannot receive IMEI. What is the problem and how to solve it?

The reason can be both in the phone and in the SIM card. Consider several solutions to the problem. Please note that the mobile operator of your SIM card is not important: Megaphone, MTS, Beeline or Tele2.

Turn “Airplane Mode” on and off

Why do I need to start by turning the Flight Mode on and off? It’s simple: this way we try to get the device to find the network again. Of course, you can restart the phone, but it’s much easier and faster to use the specified advice.

“Flight mode” can be turned on and off in the menu under the curtain, or in the main menu.

Clicked on the icon to enable.

The icon has changed color, flight mode is on.

Wait 10 seconds and turn off airplane mode.

Reboot your smartphone

The failure may be related to the software, therefore it is recommended to simply restart the smartphone.

Press the on / off button of the device and hold until the menu appears on the screen.

Here is where you need to select “Reboot”.

Wait for the reboot and check the smartphone.

Take out the sim card and insert it back

If the previous method did not help, you need to remove the SIM card and reinsert it. In fact, we do this for the same thing as in the first case – to make the device search the network again.

Change device

If none of the above helps, it is possible that the problem lies in the SIM card. For example, she could fail. To make sure of this, remove the SIM card and insert it into another device. If another phone immediately found a network, then the problem is in your phone. If the second device does not see the network, then the problem is with the SIM card. The easiest way to solve the problem is to change the SIM card to a new one in the nearest office of the telecom operator. Importantly, do not forget to bring your passport with you, otherwise no one will replace your SIM card.

The performance of the new SIM card should be checked right away in the operator’s office and preferably on two devices – just in case.

By the way, at the same time try on your phone a SIM card of another operator, if possible.

Phone problem

Perhaps the problem is in the phone itself. The question arises – what, in fact, do?

It is impossible to answer the question exactly, but the first thing to do is to upgrade your device to a more recent firmware. This can be done either using the phone settings (the so-called update by air), or, for example, using the Recovery menu.

So, you can go to your smartphone’s settings and select “About phone” or “About device”.

Go to the “Software Update” subsection.

Check if there is an update for your device (check is carried out when the Internet is connected).

If the flashing did not give results and no SIM card is working, the problem is in the phone and it probably needs repair.

Network Type Change

It is unlikely that this method will help you, but some users say that they were helped by a network change. Well, let us tell you about this..

Open the Settings app on your desktop.

Click on the button “Wireless Networks”.

Choose “Mobile networks” or “Mobile network”.

Find the line “Network Type” and click on it..

Change the type of network. We recommend using the automatic 4G / 3G / 2G network selection mode or, if not available, 3G / 2G.

It’s not recommended to select “Only 4G” for the simple reason that you won’t be able to make calls (except on VoLTE), but only use the Internet. And you won’t be able to get through, so it’s recommended to use a mixed type of network. “Only 4G” should be included only if you need fast fourth-generation Internet networks.

We hope this method helps you..
