What is the difference between iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus?

In the fall of 2016, Apple finally introduced the new generation of iPhone. As previously predicted, the company showed two devices at once – iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Although the devices are similar, they have many differences. About how these two smartphones differ from each other, in our review.

Dimensions

The main difference is the size of the case and the diagonal of the screen. So, the younger model has a 4.7-inch screen with a resolution of 750 × 1334 pixels, while the older model 7 Plus has a screen diagonal of 5.5 inches and a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels.

Accordingly, the dimensions are strikingly different: 138.3 × 67.1 × 7.1 mm for the iPhone 7 and 158.2 × 77.9 × 7.3 mm for the iPhone 7 Plus. It is worth noting that the side frames of smartphones are still not thin, so they are much larger than many competitors.

As for weight, the younger model weighs as little as 50 g: 138 g and 188 g, respectively.

Appearance

On the front, the devices are exactly the same, so if you don’t know about the size difference, you may not understand what version of iPhone 7 is in front of you. This, however, applied to the previous generation model..

But a surprise awaits behind – the devices differ. The difference is that the iPhone 7 Plus has a dual camera module, while the iPhone 7 has a single camera module. See for yourself:

Cameras

About cameras you need to tell separately. Both of them have a resolution of 12 MP, while the iPhone 7 Plus received in addition a telephoto lens that allows you to adjust the depth of field.

In simple terms, the cameras are the same, but 7 Plus has more advanced features that will surely appeal to avid photographers.

The flash is the same.

Iron

Both devices are based on the new Apple A10 Fusion processor, in this regard you will not find any differences. But, strangely enough, the amount of RAM varies – the older version has 3 GB of RAM, while the younger version has 2 GB. Why such difference? The unofficial version sounds like this: you need more power to process images obtained when shooting with a dual camera.

Battery

It is clear that the iPhone 7 Plus requires a significantly larger battery, which is confirmed in practice: the battery capacity of 7 Plus is 2900 mAh, 7 – 1960 mAh.
